Safety

Since 2001, Malek inc. has implemented a behavioral based safety program which includes job safety analysis training and pre-job task assessment training, along with in-house computer-based training. We train our employees on fall protection, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, driver safety and fork lift safety, electrical safety, and scissor lift and man lift safety. We also have trench and utlility work safety training for our plumbing division. 

 

In 2000, our EMR ratio was over 1%, and our incedent rates were around 8%. Since incorporating and rolling out our BBS program, our EMR ratio has dropped to .79%, and our TRIR is at 0% for two solid years now. We are members of ISNetworld and we are considered to have one of the best safety records in Corpus Christi, Texas. Malek inc. averages around 300 to 365,000 man hours a years. We have also won the AGC Safety Subcontractor Of The Year in 2003 and 2004, and again from 2008 to 2012. We at Malek inc. continue to strive in our safety while working in the Corpus Christi and surrounding areas.
